About Dr. Medina

Dr. Medina received his Bachelor of Arts degree from University of North Carolina University with a major in Biological Sciences and pre-medical studies. He then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Following dental school, Dr. Medina completed a hospital-based internship and other dental and medical training with a focus on evaluation and treatment of Oncological processes, including Oral Cancer at the Oregon Health and Science University in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department.

At this time, Dr. Medina also served as faculty at the OHSU dental school as an instructor for the upcoming graduating dental students, training them in Oral Surgery techniques, evaluation and management of patients with complex medical histories. Dr. Medina then completed the rest of his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the residency of UCLA at Harbor. His surgical residency training included rotations at several hospitals throughout the Los Angeles area, including the busy Level I Trauma Center Harbor UCLA Medical Center, Kaiser Permanente Los Angeles, and Martin Luther King Hospital. Dr. Medina served as Chief Resident, managing both the elective and trauma services in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Harbor UCLA and MLK Hospital.

His intensive surgical training included jaw reconstruction using state of the art techniques in dental implants and bone grafting, management of maxillofacial trauma, dentofacial deformities, tumor and reconstruction, dentoalveolar surgery, TMJ disorders, orthognathic jaw correctional surgery, and facial cosmetic surgery. Dr. Medina also trained extensively in the medical management of patients and in providing IV sedation and general anesthesia for the comfort of his patients. On an annual basis, Dr. Medina attends various educational seminars to further his knowledge and maintain his surgical techniques at the highest level.

Dr. Medina now focuses his practice primarily on the replacement of missing and failing (decayed, infected, broken, fractured, loose, and unsalvageable) teeth utilizing the most cutting edge technologies available, whether it is replacement of teeth with one implant, or replacement of all missing teeth using full arch replacement surgical surgeries, known as All-on-4 (Teeth in a Day).
